When a loved one passes away while abroad, the family’s first thought is often the desire for them to rest in their native soil. The procedure for transporting remains from the USA to Poland seems complicated, but with the right partner, it can be carried out quickly and without unnecessary financial stress.
What makes up the cost of transport?
Many companies provide partial prices. You need specifics. In our transport package (currently $5,995 in our offer for the NY metropolitan area), there are three key elements:
- Airline ticket for the deceased – this is a significant part of the costs.
- Consular fees – necessary to obtain permission for the coffin to enter the Republic of Poland.
- Logistics in Poland – transport of the coffin from the airport (e.g., Okęcie) to the family town.
What do you need to watch out for?
Remember that the base price usually does not include the coffin itself. It must meet airline standards (metal liner), so its purchase is a separate expense. If the death occurred outside of New York, e.g., in Chicago or Florida, there will be an additional fee for domestic transport to the departure airport.

In difficult times, it is worth relying on companies that guarantee “Polish-speaking service” and know the regulations of both countries. This saves not only money but, above all, stress.
