Services

Car accidents

Full compensation for fender benders, pile-ups, and collisions in New York.

A collision on the BQE or a fender bender at a local intersection in Maspeth? Insurance companies will do everything to undervalue your health and damaged car. We secure evidence, fight for reimbursement of medical costs, and compensation for pain.

Construction accidents

Protection for construction workers – falls from ladders, scaffolding, falling objects.

New York Labor Law (240/241) provides powerful protection for workers, but you need to know how to use it. If you were injured in a construction accident, you are entitled to compensation regardless of your immigration status. We hold general contractors and developers accountable.

Labor and employment law

Your shield against unfair employers and discrimination.

Are you experiencing harassment, discrimination, or wrongful termination at work? State and federal law protects you from such abuses. We represent employees whose rights have been trampled by their superiors.

Medical malpractice

When trust in a doctor ends in tragedy – we fight for justice.

Misdiagnoses, surgical errors, or birth negligence can ruin lives. Medical malpractice cases are complex and require experts. We have them. We will help you obtain funds for rehabilitation and lifelong care.

Pedestrian accidents

Pedestrian safety is a priority. Compensation for accidents on crosswalks and sidewalks.

New York is a jungle for pedestrians. If you were hit by a taxi, Uber, or private car, you have the right to treatment and compensation. Do not sign a settlement with the perpetrator’s insurer without consulting us.

Personal Injury

Comprehensive legal assistance for those injured as a result of someone else's negligence.

A serious injury is not just physical pain, it is also lost earnings and family stress. Regardless of how the accident happened, we will evaluate your case for free. Our goal is to maximize the amount you receive ‘in your pocket’.

Premises liability

Accident in a store, residential building, or office? The owner must pay.

Property owners in Brooklyn and Queens have a duty to ensure safety. If you were injured due to poor building conditions, lack of lighting, or damaged stairs, we will hold the management accountable.

Slips and falls

Icy sidewalk, wet floor, uneven sidewalk – it's not your fault.

A fall on an icy sidewalk in Ridgewood or on a wet floor in a supermarket can end in a fracture or spinal injury. We document the negligence of property managers and fight for money for your health impairment.

Unpaid overtime and wages

Did you work? You deserve to be paid. We recover stolen earnings.

Paying ‘under the table’ does not exempt the boss from the duty to pay for overtime or maintain the minimum wage. If an employer ‘cuts’ your hours or doesn’t pay on time, we will recover your money along with interest and penalties for the employer.

Workers’ Compensation

Medical and replacement benefits after a workplace accident.

The Workers’ Comp system is complex, and insurance companies often reject claims for trivial reasons. We will help you navigate the bureaucracy so you receive coverage for medical costs and a portion of lost earnings, while you focus on your recovery.

Wrongful death

Dignified compensation for the family after the loss of a loved one.

No amount of money can bring back a life, but it can secure the future of children and a spouse. If your loved one died as a result of an accident or negligence, we will help you obtain financial justice and close this painful chapter.

Q&A

  • Do I have to pay for the first consultation with a lawyer?

Absolutely not. At Jodré Brenecki LLP, the first consultation is always free. We will evaluate your case, analyze the documents, and tell you what your chances for compensation are – with no obligations.

  • What are the costs of handling an accident case?

We work on a contingency fee basis. This means you don’t pay us a cent upfront. Our fee is a percentage of the amount we win for you. If we don’t win the case, you don’t incur any legal costs.

  • Can I get compensation if I work "off the books"?

Yes. In New York State, your immigration status does not affect your right to compensation for a workplace accident. Courts do not allow insurance companies to use the lack of a visa against an injured worker.

  • How long do I have to report an accident?

Time is critical. You only have 30 days to report a workplace accident, and also 30 days for a No-Fault application (car accident). You generally have 3 years to file a lawsuit, but in cases against the city (e.g., sidewalk, MTA bus), it is only 90 days to file a Notice of Claim.

  • Do I need to speak English to handle a case?

No. Attorney Nicole Brenecki and our staff speak fluent Polish. We provide full service in your native language, from the first phone call to representation in court.
